New Delhi: Zakir Naik, a controversial Islamic preacher who is an Indian, has been invited by Pakistan to deliver a series of public lectures in multiple cities including Karachi. He shared the update regarding the same via his social media accounts.
Islamic Preacher Zakir Naik Invited by Pakistan to Deliver Lectures
The controversial Islamic preacher, who is an Indian by birth, will be delivering a series of lectures in three cities of Pakistan , namely, Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. As said before, Naik revealed about his invitation via social media.
Zakir Naik will begin his Pakistan trip on October 5 and Karachi will be the first city he will be visiting; he will then go to Lahore and will end his tour with a lecture in Islamabad on October 20.
Pakistan 's leading daily was quoted as saying that Naik's Karachi lecture will focus on 'the purpose of our life' and his next lecture would be on ‘Kya Quran ko Samajh kar Parhna Zaroori Hai?’ (Is it important to understand the Quran while reading?)
Who is Zakir Naik?
An Islamic preacher, the controversial Zakir Naik left India and fled to 2016 in Malaysia; he was accused of spreading hatred and there were charges of money laundering on him as well. The 58-year-old fundamentalist Islamic preacher is known for his controversial and inflammatory speeches and will be touring Pakistan with his son Fariq Naik.
Kiren Rijiju Slams Zakir Naik for ‘Misleading People’
Recently, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju slammed Islamic preacher Zakir Naik for "false propaganda and misleading people" regarding the government's Waqf Amendment Bill.In response, Rijiju condemned Naik's claims and said, "Please do not mislead the innocent Muslims from outside our country." "India is a democratic country and people have the right to their own opinion. False propaganda will lead to wrong narratives," it added.
Amid the raging controversy over the Waqf Bill, Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, who is currently wanted in India on charges of money laundering and hate speech, in a post on social media said, "Save Indian Waqf Properties, Reject The Waqf Amendment Bill!" Sharing a QR Code in the post he urged people to send “rejection to Waqf Bill to Joint Parliamentary Committee,” and mentioned that the due date is September 13. Emphasising it as an urgent call to the Muslims in India, he said they have to "Say no to the Waqf Amendment Bill!
