New Delhi: Ahe of by-polls for six Assembly seats, political climate in West Bengal has become tense following a stern message from actor and BJP leer Mithun Chakraborty. 74-year-old Chakraborty cited a controversial remark me by Trinamool Congress leer Humayun Kabir before Lok Sabha elections, in which Kabir h threatened rival party workers on religious grounds.
"A leer says re are 70 per cent Muslims and 30 per cent Hindus (and) that he will 'cut' and throw m in Bhagirathi... I thought Chief Minister ( Mamata Banerjee ) would say something. She didn't... so now I am saying, we will chop m (up) and bury m in ground..." actor-turned-politician stated.

"I am not Chief Minister... but I am saying this," 74-year-old raged, "We will do anything to win masn (throne) of Bengal... it will belong to BJP after 2026 Assembly election."
"I am saying it again and again... we will do anything (to win 2026 election) ... anything. I am saying this with Home Minister Amit Shahji sitting here - we will do anything," he warned ominously.

"In 2026, masn will be ours and we will do everything to achieve goal." Stating that he h campaigned for party for 37 days in run-up to 2024 Lok Sabha elections, former Rajya Sabha member said that he was pained at results in which BJP h come down from 18 seats in 2019 to 12 out of 42 constituencies in West Bengal.
He called upon BJP functionaries to ensure one crore membership in campaign that will last till November 30. actor said that he will join membership campaign in state in November.

Moeover, Chakraborty cautioned that no one should try to browbeat BJP's voters into not casting ir votes in next assembly elections in state and called upon booth-level workers of saffron party to resist any such attempt.
