Will Smriti Irani Contest Raebareli in 2029? Former Amethi MP Responds To Arnab
Smriti Irani has said that Rahul Gandhi conceded defeat the moment he decided not to contest from Amethi in Lok Sabha elections 2024.
New Delhi: Smriti Irani , former Union Minister, has said that she is only woman MP who defeated a sitting Congress president in Amethi Lok Sabha seat and completed her full tenure as a Member of Parliament being a non-Gandhi. The ex-Amethi MP called out Rahul Gandhi saying the moment he decided not to contest from Amethi, he had conceded his defeat.
When asked by Republic TV's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami , will she contest Raebareli in 2029, Smriti Irani said that it's upto the party which will take a call from where she would contest.

During coronavirus, Rahul Gandhi did not trust Indian pharmaceutical companies, he spoke against Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (LTD) but Prime Minister Narendra Modi always asserted in self-reliance in defence preparedness.
Rahul Gandhi attacked EVMs, election commission, and other democratic institutions, she said.
Rahul is sometimes a half-Hindu and sometimes full and acts as per his political conveniences, Smriti Irani said.
The Congress scion is out of power due to his approach. He wants to provoke the government to take some wrong step but he's doesn't know how resilient the Modi government is, Smriti Irani said.
“Even Prime Minister know that Rahul Gandhi acts to keep himself relevant,” she said.
Rahul cannot win Amethi even in 2029
" Rahul Gandhi cannot win from Amethi even in 2029. I challenge him to debate with me," Smriti Irani added.
“We were the only nation which remained on the side of peace during Ukraine war. We were pressurised by international community to take sides…,” she mentioned.
“Our core agenda is Rashtra Sarvopari… our core agenda was abrogation of Article 370, and our core agendas are One Nation One Poll, WAQF bill, UCC and we will fulfil these,” Smriti Irani assured.
