New Delhi: BJP on Thursday set up a st at Yamuna's Chhath Ghat here with two chairs for Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and her predecessor Arvind Kejriwal to remind m of AAP's promise to clean river.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva took a dip in Yamuna and "sought forgiveness" for "corruption" of Delhi government, which he alleged looted funds meant for cleaning river, a party statement said.

On Wednesday, Sachdeva h challenged Kejriwal to take a dip in river, saying that he h promised people of Delhi that he would clean it before Chhath puja 2025 so that y could ba in it.
Ahe of Purvanchali festival of Chhath, which is celebrated days after Diwali , ruling AAP and BJP have been slugging it out over heavy pollution and toxic froth in river.

On Thursday, BJP set up a st at Chhath Ghar near ITO. On st, which was covered with a red carpet, were two tufted chairs with names of Kejriwal and Atishi.
"We have been waiting for Kejriwal and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi to come and have a look at condition of Yamuna. Two chairs and a red carpet have also been put here to welcome m," Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said.

Sachdeva took a dip in river in morning and "sought forgiveness from Maa Yamuna as ( governments of) Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi Marlena looted funds worth Rs 8,500 crore for cleaning Yamuna but did t clean river".
"This Kejriwal-Marlena government is shameless but people of Delhi seek Maa Yamuna's forgiveness for ir corruption," he said.
