World Bank President David Malpass on Sunday visited the Statue of Unity in Narmada district of Gujarat along with Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani

World Bank president David Malpass on Sunday visited Statue of Unity in Narma district of Gujarat. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani accompanied Malpass to world's tallest statue, dedicated to country's first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, from Keviya after he reached Vodara. Malpass is scheduled to dress probationers of civil services on October 28 on topic of "capacity building for civil servants" at Tent City in Keviya near statue.

David Malpass attends cultural programme along with Gujarat CM

Around 450 IAS probationers are participating in foundation course of Centre's Department of Personnel and Training at Tent City. I will encour probationers and discuss with m ditional ways to develop India, an official release quoted Malpass as saying. Gujarat government officers me a presentation before Malpass at Ekta Auditorium in Keviya. Later, he attended a cultural programme along with Rupani and or senior officers, it stated. As part of his four-day visit to India, WB chief reached New Delhi on Friday. He met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman next day.

He also delivered a keyte dress on role of financial sector in development at NITI Aayog's fifth lecture series. Malpass is visiting India for first time after taking charge as president of multi-lateral funding ncy in April this year. On Sunday, probationers of civil services--IAS, IPS, IFS and IRS--and family members of civil servants celebrated Diwali at Via and Vora vills in Narma district as part of ir vill visit programme, release stated.
