Yediyurappa discusses state's development with PM, invites to inaugurate B'luru tech summit

Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Friday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and discussed various developmental issues pertaining to state.

He also invited Modi to inaugurate Bengaluru Tech Summit virtually.

meeting at Parliament House lasted for 15 minutes, an official release from state information department said.

During meeting, Yediyurappa extended an invitation to Modi to inaugurate Bengaluru Tech Summit on vember 19 on a virtual mode, it said.

state government's flagship 'Bengaluru Tech Summit', actually scheduled in September this year, was postponed to vember in view of COVID-19 pandemic.

This year's BTS is expected to focus on leveraging techlogy to tackle challenges brought to fore by pandemic and re will be symposiums and tech-related talks by experts and techlogists.

Ahe of his meeting with Modi, Chief Minister said, he will discuss all issues concerning development of state, also regarding state cabinet expansion.

"... discussion also has to happen regarding cabinet expansion, I will bring it to his tice and take clearance and leave for Bengaluru tomorrow," he said, ding that he will meet BJP national President J P Nda in evening.

According to release, CM during today's meeting appealed to Prime Minister to expedite release of funds from National Disaster Response Fund.

He also me a plea to revise items and rms of assistance from State Disaster Response Fund or National Disaster Response Fund for current year itself to ensure timely and equate financial assistance to distressed people.

Yediyurappa furr urged Modi to declare irrigation projects like Upper Krishna Project St-III and Upper Bhra Project as "National Projects".

He also me a request for necessary action for early approvals and clearances for irrigation and drinking water projects including Mekedatu and Kalasa Banduri Nala to utilise precious water resources allocated to State, release ded.
