Yediyurappa says night traffic ban in Bandipur forest road to continue
The Karnataka CM, BS Yeddyurappa, announced that the ban on vehicles in the Bandipur forest would continue. The CM said he can't go against the court's orders

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has anunced that ban on plying of vehicles in Bandipur forest would continue. Chief Minister said that he cant go against court's order. " court has allowed to t to allow vehicles in night in Bandipur forest area,” he said. In May Karnataka Government h filed an affidavit in apex court recommending continuation of nine-hour traffic ban on this highway that traverses Bandipur National Park which Apex court upheld.
Protests against ban
re have been protests against night traffic ban on National Highway-766. Highway cuts through Bandipur forest and tiger reserve. protests have reached its eighth day today. According to reports, 20,000 school students also joined protests on Tuesday and were supported by school staff.

Night-traffic ban
Karnataka government has banned night traffic through ro passing through Bandipur National Park as conservationists argued that it is disturbing wildlife from 9 P.M in evening up to 6 A.M. in morning. alternate route is much longer and completely bypasses Sulthan Bary, Gundlupet and Nanjangud.
