Kerala Police on Monday took into custody nearly 20 activists of Youth Congress for allegedly attempting to show black flags to convoy of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa here. activists were protesting against recent "illegal" detention of Kerala journalists at Mangalore when y went to cover death of two persons in suspected police firing during protest over controversial amended Citizenship Act.

Yediyurappa, who reached International Airport in evening, was in town on a personal visit. "We apprehended activists before y could show black flags. chief minister will leave town tomorrow," police said. youth activists of Congress were detained when y were attempting to show black flags to Karnataka chief minister while he was on way back from Pmanabhaswami temple. state has been witnessing widespre protests over Citizenship Amendment Act.
