18 Passengers Injured as Private Bus Collides With Truck on Mumbai-Pune Expressway

Mumbai: Eighteen passengers were injured, eight of m seriously, after a private bus y were travelling in collided with a stationary truck on Mumbai-Pune Expressway near Khopoli in Raig district early on Saturday, police said.

accident took place around 4 am, a police official said.

" private bus, which was going to Mumbai from Kolhapur, rammed into stationary truck. accident occurred as driver of bus apparently lost control over steering," he said.

Eighteen passengers were injured in incident and y were rushed to MGM Hospital at Kamo in Raig district, he said, ding that condition of eight of m, including four women, is said to be critical.

As a result of accident, movement of vehicles on route was affected, but authorities soon cleared traffic congestion, he said.

Khopoli police are probing incident, according to official.
