Bandra-Madgaon Train Flagged Off: New bi-weekly service boosts Mumbai-Goa connectivity. Check out route, timings, and more details.
In a move set to bolster travel between Mumbai and Goa, Union Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated a new bi-weekly train service on Thursday. The train, which will run between Bandra Terminus in Mumbai and Madgaon in Goa, aims to significantly improve connectivity between Mumbai's western suburbs and Maharashtra’s Konkan region, as well as Goa.
The flag-off ceremony took place at Borivali station with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw joining virtually. BJP leaders including Pravin Darekar, Ashish Shelar, and former MP Gopal Shetty were present to mark the occasion.
According to the Western Railway release, the new train will operate on a bi-weekly schedule. It will depart from Madgaon every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:40 am, arriving at Bandra Terminus at 11:40 pm. Conversely, it will leave Bandra Terminus every Wednesday and Friday at 6:50 am and reach Madgaon at 10:00 pm.
Additionally, on Thursdays, the train will also depart from Borivali at 1:25 pm, reaching Madgaon the following day at 4:00 am. The route includes stops at Vasai Road, Bhiwandi Road, Panvel, Roha, Veer, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavli, Sindhudurg, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, and Karmali stations.
The new service features a 20-car train with various classes including AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, AC 3-Tier (Economy), Sleeper Class, and General Second Class, catering to a broad range of passenger needs.
