Indore: On July 14th, Indore smashed the world record for most trees planted in a single day by a team. Over 11 lakh saplings were planted in this incredible effort organized by the Madhya Pradesh government.

This achievement adds to Indore's reputation as a leader in environmental initiatives, having already been recognized as India's cleanest city. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav congratulated the city for this historic feat.

The massive tree planting was part of the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This initiative aims to plant 140 crore trees across India, with 5.5 crore targeted for Madhya Pradesh. Indore itself is aiming to plant 51 lakh saplings during the campaign.

The planting took place at the BSF Academy's Revati Range, involving a massive team of over 2,000 BSF jawans, NRIs, NCC cadets, citizens, and social organizations.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who participated in the campaign earlier that day, praised Prime Minister Modi's vision for this people's movement that tackles climate change while honoring Mother Earth.
