Delhi-NCR News: Fast-moving initiatives are being made to link Delhi and Noida to important cities around India. Three expressways are now under construction in Uttar Pradesh (UP), which has already established a vast network of them. Travel time from Noida to Lucknow is predicted to be drastically reduced by nearly half thanks to these new expressways. More than 70 kilometers will be cut out from the total distance. In addition to helping people going to and from Kanpur, the UP government and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) are constructing these expressways.

New Expressway

The NHAI plans to build an expressway connecting Kanpur and Ghaziabad-Noida. In addition, an additional expressway connecting Lucknow and Kanpur is being constructed. When finished, there will be two roads that connect Noida to Lucknow: the newly constructed Noida-Kanpur and Kanpur-Lucknow expressways, as well as the current Yamuna and Agra Expressways. By 2026, a 380-kilometer expressway connecting Noida and Kanpur is anticipated to be completed. Ninety percent of the land acquisition for this project has already been completed by the NHAI, and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has been notified of the detailed report for approval.

Travel Time

The 63-kilometer expressway, on the other hand, is planned to connect Kanpur and Lucknow and is expected to be finished by early 2025. As of the now, there are 443 kilometers between Noida and Kanpur (380 kilometers) and Kanpur and Lucknow (63 kilometers). Currently, 511 kilometers are covered by the route that uses the Yamuna and Agra Expressways. This means that the new expressways will cut this distance by about 70 kilometers.

The Yamuna and Agra Expressways currently take over 7 hours to travel from Noida to Lucknow. With the new expressways, however, the travel time will be almost reduced from Noida to Kanpur and finally to Lucknow. The entire trip will take about 4 hours, as you can go to Kanpur from Noida in 3 hours and 20 minutes and from Kanpur to Lucknow in about 35 minutes.
