Ultraviolette, a pioneering force in electric motorcycle innovation, is making headlines with its latest marvel, the F77 MACH 2. Launched just three months ago, the F77 MACH 2 stands as India's premier electric sports bike, poised to challenge the dominance of traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles both domestically and internationally.

Founded in 2016 by visionary entrepreneurs Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan, Ultraviolette was driven by a clear mission: to transform India’s motorcycle landscape. Recognizing that motorcycles in India are not merely a mode of transport but a profound cultural icon, they set out to craft premium, high-performance electric motorcycles.

The debut of the F77 Mach 2 marks a significant milestone in this journey. Following the introduction of the F77 Gen 1 in March 2023, Ultraviolette has now unleashed a machine that represents the pinnacle of electric motorcycle technology. Designed and engineered entirely in India, the F77 Mach 2 is set to make waves in the global market, with plans for imminent launches in Turkey and Europe—regions historically revered as the epicentre of automotive excellence.

Global Ambitions and Market Disruption

Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-Founder of Ultraviolette, highlights the F77 MACH 2's competitive edge: “Globally, electric motorcycle prices often exceed $20,000, catering primarily to a niche market. Our goal with the F77 Mach 2 is to democratize high-performance EV motorcycles and integrate them into the broader motorcycling community worldwide.”

Boasting the highest energy recovery rates in its class, the F77 Mach 2 features a 10-level regenerative braking system that recovers 25 to 30 percent of energy—an achievement four to five times superior to current industry standards. Its Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), a world-first feature that harmonizes ABS and regenerative braking, represents a groundbreaking advancement in motorcycle safety.

The F77 has garnered impressive accolades globally since its unveiling at EICMA 2023 in Milan, Italy. With its striking design, cutting-edge performance, and competitive pricing, the motorcycle has captured the imagination of a global audience. The global appeal is also evident by the very fact that Ultraviolette had received interests from over 190 countries for the F77 soon after its launch in India.

Ultraviolette's commitment extends beyond product innovation. The company has established a robust infrastructure to support its expansion. Starting with its initial retail experience center, UV Hangar, in Bengaluru, Ultraviolette has recently opened UV Space Station in Pune and will launch such experience centers in Kochi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and other cities in the coming two months. These centers aim to enhance customer engagement and provide a firsthand experience of Ultraviolette's pioneering technology.

A Vision for the Future

Looking ahead, Ultraviolette envisions a future where it is a leading player in multiple motorcycle segments. Narayan Subramaniam emphasizes, “We are not just a single-product company. Our roadmap includes expanding across various motorcycle segments, leveraging India's rich talent pool to drive innovation.”

In addition to its advancements in motorcycle technology, Ultraviolette is addressing infrastructure needs by partnering with HPCL for fast-charging stations and also expanding its very own Supernova charging network. This network, featuring 6 and 12 kW DC fast highway chargers, enables rapid top-ups – from 20 to 80% charge in just 40 minutes, and underscores Ultraviolette's commitment to enhancing the electric vehicle ecosystem.

Commitment to Safety and Quality

Safety remains a top priority for Ultraviolette. The F77 Mach 2 benefits from over seven years of R&D, including eight generations of battery development before the architecture for the F77 was finalised. The motorcycle’s battery system features a comprehensive safety architecture with a five-level safety layer across Mechanical, Thermal, Electrical, Electronics and Software aspects, and its highly advanced air-cooling system minimizes weight while ensuring robust performance.

Ultraviolette stands out as the only manufacturer offering an 8-year/800,000 km battery and drivetrain warranty with the F77 Mach 2—a testament to its confidence in the durability and reliability of its products.

As Ultraviolette prepares to enter new markets and continue its innovative journey, it is poised to redefine perceptions of Indian technology on the global stage. With the F77 Mach 2, Ultraviolette is not only setting new benchmarks in the electric motorcycle industry but also paving the way for a sustainable and exhilarating future in motorcycling.
