As one of most awaited festivals of year is finally, all of Lord Ganesha's devotees welcomed this god on occasion of 'Ganesh Chaturthi'. Hindu festival that worships Lord of new beginnings, Ganesha, is celebrated across nation with much pomp and glory. Colourful processions, bustling music, and energetic dance moves cover streets of country while deity's idol is installed at home and at pandals to mark  celebration. However, Ganpati Visarjan i.e. idol immersion following event has been a matter of concern, since it contributes to several environmental hazards. Idols that generally me of Plaster of Paris (PoP) are immersed in water bodies, disturb  aquatic ecosystem and is a major cause of water pollution.

Devotees in Goa are all set to celebrate  Ganesh Chaturthi with great enthusiasm. Reportedly, in Goa, a vill has prepared a huge Ganesha idol using bananas and bamboos. After 10 days celebration of festival, when fruits ripen reportedly y will be distributed among people.

4. Fish Friendly Ganesha

Fish Friendly Ganesha idols are growing trend. idols me out of clay and filled with fish-friendly food including dried corn, spinach, and chickpea powder. When immersed in water bodies, small-sized idols easily get dissolved in  river water and  food filling stuffed inside it feed  fishes.
