- Once you have all the above-mentioned materials at hand, most of which you will find within the confines of your home, you can follow the simple steps discussed below to continue. It is a relatively easy process and could take less than an hour when you are learning how to make a paper boat.
- Lay a rectangular-shaped paper out. In case you are using printed paper, ensure that the printed side is facing up
- Fold this sheet of paper in half so that it creates a horizontal crease right in the middle
- Now take the top corners and fold them towards the middle where they meet while leaving a small 1-inch space at the bottom
- Once you have a triangle shape, fold the bottom flaps and shape upwards.
- Take the middle section and pull it out so that it forms a shape like a hat
- Now you can open up the hat shape out completely until it forms a square and then insert the edges of one flap under the other on each side.
- Then fold the base flaps of the square on both the sides, so you have a protruded triangle shape left.
- Using your fingers, pull out the middle of the triangle.
- Then pull out the middle of that
- Press it down to completely flatten the whole thing
- Go to the bottom and open it out so that you get your boat
- Voila! Your DIY paper boat is ready to set sail.
