ongoing Coronavirus pandemic has led to a lockdown in Cana. Hence to support book writers and velists, Margaret Atwood is launching an online series that will help Canian writers sell ir books amidst this lockdown. This move comes as a relief to several authors who recently launched ir books but could t promote m due to lockdown.

Coronavirus lockdown has brought world to a complete standstill. This pandemic has led to several countries declaring a lockdown to curb spre of COVID-19 virus. But this lockdown has affected several industries, daily w workers, poor people.

So to help many people in entertainment industry being affected by lockdown, an initiative named Cana Performs has been launched. This platform lets musicians, actors, comedians and or performers to showcase ir performances online.

At first, only performing arts were being considered for this platform but w a media portal’s report suggests that Booker’s Prize winner Margaret Atwood insisted on having writers on platform as well. Cana Performs t only provides a venue for se artists but also plays m $1000 C for ir performances.

Margaret Atwood insisted on having se writers on platform since many of m could t promote ir books due to ir tours being cancelled. While in an interview with a media publication, Margaret said that writers are struggling a lot due to this lockdown. She also said that y are “scrambling, improvising around to get word out re” about ir books.

During interview, Margaret also talked about difference between a live audience and a virtual audience. She said that virtual presence does t “replace fun of an audience”. She also said that thing is better than a mass audience response. But looking at positive side, she said that “we’re in better-than-thing era- do what you can”.
