To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
The book, published in 1960, became an immediate literature classic. The story covers the racism happening in southern USA through its main protagonist, a small girl named Jean Louise “Scout” Finch. In this story, the protagonist’s father, Atticus Finch, is a role model to the little girl and also changes the way how caucasians looked at the other races. He does it while the tension between the communities was very high. To Kill a Mockingbird earned the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1961.

A Passage to India by E.M. Forster

The book tells the fictional story of a Muslim Indian doctor named Aziz and his relationship with an English professor, Cyril Fielding.
