People around globe are celebrating 'World Book Day' on Tuesday, April 23. Observed every year, purpose of day is to highlight  power of books and to promote open and inclusive kwledge societies.

To mark occasion, on Thursday, March 21,  bel Foundation paid tribute to Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore. institution extended a mess remembering  1913 bel Prize awardee on ir official Twitter handle and shared a throwback picture of world-rewned poet.

Paying tribute to Tagore in a recent post, institution wrote, " highest education is that which does t merely give us information but makes our life in harmony with all existence." - Rabindranath Tagore awarded 1913 #belPrize in Literature. #WorldBookDay"

Meanwhile,  United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCo.) took up initiative to celebrate 'World Book Day' in year 1995, following which day is observed every year on April 23. Also kwn as World Book and Copyright Day, or International Day of Book,  annual event is organized to promote reing, publishing, and copyright.
