From Gerald’s Game to Mist, and Mr. Mercedes, to terrifying movie It, author's stories have gained immense popularity amongst audience. While it is tough to narrow down Stephen King’s prolific work to just four vels, here's a list of some of his greatest works to read on occasion of Halloween.
1. Cujo
One of most realistic vels, Cujo is downright scary, and perhaps will make you question your love for dogs. , really! In an interview, King revealed that he did t remember writing this book as he was struggling with his drug addiction. plot revolves around Trenton and his family, as he moves Castle York from New York with his wife and four-year-old son. couple faces marital problems. family owns a dog, Cujo who is fun-loving and jolly but gets bit by a rabid bat. rabid dog kills several people before eyeing on its final prey, a mor and her son.

2. Shining
Shining is an inseparable part of American pop culture. It was adapted into a film by same name. Jack Torrence, an alcoholic author, brings his wife and son to his new job as a caretaker of a hotel to make money that would support his writing. He started encountering ghosts in hotel. Though he has telepathic powers to communicate with lost souls, hotel’s negative energy overpowers him and convinces him to kill his wife and son.

3. Carrie
Stephen King’s debut vel Carrie proved to be a huge hit for prolific writer. It has been made into several movies. book is a social commentary about bullying, adolescence, and religious fanaticism. One of sources of terror is little girl’s revenge upon her classmates.

vel showcases a girl who gets lost in woods. She has thing except her backpack which consists of a water bottle, twinkies, a boiled egg, a tuna sandwich, a Game Boy, poncho, a walkman and a bottle of surge. protagonist survives through weird times as her idol Tom Gordon helps girl confront her fears.
