Girl, Woman, Other - 2019
Written by British author Bernardine Evaristo, Girl, Woman, Other is the eighth fictional work of the author. The experimental novel has won numerous Academic Awards, and also jointly won the Booker Prize of the year 2019. The book depicts the lives of twelve, predominantly black, British women. Ranging from the age group of 19 to 93, this novel follows each character through their cultural backgrounds, classes and occupations to tell the stories of themselves.
Milkman - 2018
Milkman is a story of an 18-years-old woman who is forced into a relationship with an older man during the troubles in Northern Ireland. Milkman is a novel set in the Belfast of the uneasy 1970s, but the city and the lead protagonist are not named in the novel. The novel received positive reviews from The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph and The Irish Times.
Bring Up The Bodies - 2012
Bring Up the Bodies is a historical novel and sequel to an award-winning Wolf Hall written by Hillary Mantel. Hillary Mantel is known for writing personal memories, short-stories and historical fictions. Hillary also won the UK Author Of The Year in 2012 for Bring Up the Bodies. The prequel book, titled Wolf Hall, also won the Man Booker Prize Award for the year 2009.
The Sense of an Ending - 2011
Writer Julian Barnes won the Man Booker Prize for his book The Sense of an Ending in the year 2011. Three of his earlier books had also been shortlisted for the Booker Prize: Flaubert's Parrot (1984), England,England (1998), and Arthur & George (2005). The Sense of an Ending was one of the critically acclaimed books of the year 2011.
The Finkler Question - 2010
The Finkler Question is a comic-novel published in 2010, written by British author Howard Jacobson. The novel won the Man Booker Prize 2010. Jacobson is known for writing comic novels that often revolve around the difficulties of British Jewish characters.
