World Book Day is celebrated every year on April 23 and internationally marked as books and copyright day. event was organised by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to promote a reing culture and create more awareness towards books. J K Rowling
Famous for Harry Potter series, JK Rowling has seen her fair share of copyright and tremark infringement. first time British author faced copyright issues was in 1999 when American author Nancy Kathleen Stouffer accused Rowling of using words which she allegedly invented in her book Legend of Rah and Muggles and Larry Potter and his Best Friend Lily. Nancy Kathleen lost case as court found her submission to be fraudulent and testimony that she gave untruthfully.
Or than this, ar author rian Jacobs accused JK Rowling of plagiarising substantial parts of his book ventures of Willy Wizard in her book Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire. rian failed to provide a security deposit to court and case was dismissed in US where judge said that any serious comparison of two strains credulity.

Dan Brown has written several popular vels like Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons. book Da Vinci Code was released in May 2003 after which Lewis Perdue author of Da Vinci and Daughter of God accused Dan of plagiarism. court ruled and stated that “Any slightly similar elements are on level of generalised or orwise unprotectable ideas," which le to victory of Dan Brown.

Ar case against Dan Brown was filed by Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh, authors of Holy Blood, Holy Grail. But y lost case as judge said that historical research, matter how it is interpreted in fiction, is fair game.

Stephanie Meyer
In year 2009, author of bestselling vampire series Twilight Saga was accused of plagiarism by author Jordan Scott. lawsuit was on copyright infringement mentioned similarities between Meyer’s fourth book in Twilight series Breaking Dawn and Scott’s vampire vel cturne. Scott drew similarities between certain scenes in books like wedding scene, sex on beach, a pregnant woman with a child with evil powers, and main character turning into a vampire, including ors. Meyer’s publisher claimed characters were vastly different and court also ruled in Meyer’s favour.

Shin Kyung-sook
South Korean author, Shin Kyung-sook was accused of plagiarising from prize-winning Japanese author Yukio Mishima. He alleged this after author Lee Eung-jun actually pointed out similarities between Shin Kyung-sook’s Legend and Mishima’s Patriotism.
At first, Shin denied allegations that she h plagiarised but in 1996 she agreed one line from book "[She] became body that kws pleasure” was re in both books and raised this litigation. After news broke out, Shin Kyung-sook apologised for his mistake and accepted that she was at fault.
ra Roberts vs Cristiane Serruya
In 2019. best-selling author ra Roberts filed a copyright infringement and multi-plagiarism lawsuit against a Brazilian author Cristiane Serruya. She alleged that Serruya h copied texts t just from her books but works of or writers as well. court identified that Cristiane Serruya has carried several parts of her books, and all her books were taken off sale.
