It is believed that Goddess Lakshmi emerged out of ocean on this day. refore, re is a practice of worshipping Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kubera, god of wealth on auspicious day of Trayodashi. belief is that purchasing some form of precious metals like gold, silver or copper brings good luck to family on this day. People also buy silver and brass utensils and keep m in East direction of ir home. It is also said that buying a broomstick on Dhanteras signifies sweeping out poverty and misery from house.

most preferred item for Dhanteras is  idols of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi which are to be worshipped on Diwali.
