Diwali, the Festival of Lights will be celebrated on October 27 this year. There are numerous ways to celebrate the festival beautifully and with enthusiasm by adding a personal touch to it by decorating your house. People start cleaning up every corner of the house to make it look fresh and bright. Often, there are fancy decorations along with diyas, candles, torans, flowers, rangoli, string lights which give the home a festive look.

Garlands made out of flowers make the house fragrant and beautiful. Your house entrance can be made more attractive by decorative flowers or garlands with string lights. Your dining table or the living room table can be decked up by placing a glass bowl filled with water and putting some rose flowers in it. Make a fashionable floral vase filled with aromatic flowers the centrepiece of your house for the occasion.

Rangoli:

Hindus believe that drawing bright rangoli on the floor by the front door encourages Goddess Laxmi to enter their homes. It embraces the spirit of the festival of Diwali. Some of the most common rangoli designs are holy symbols like Mangal Kalash, Goddess Laxmi's footsteps, Om, Swastik, Deepak etc. One can also use some flower petals to enhance the beauty of the rangoli. Also, if you are allergic to rangoli colours, you can use organic ones or natural kitchen items like rice, turmeric etc.
