DIY scrubs to reduce skin tanning
Coffee body scrub:
Coffee has a number of benefits, besides being your wake up drink. Coffee has a rich source of caffeine, which is the best exfoliating agent. It removes the stubborn dead cells from your skin while moisturising it deeply. Coffee also contains antioxidants that protect against UV damage and prevents moisture loss.
Ingredients:
- ½ cup coffee
- ½ cup of sugar
- I tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp salt
Method:
- Mix in coffee, sugar and salt followed by the rest of the ingredients, and your exfoliating coffee body scrub is ready to go.

Lemon and sugar scrub:
We always try to protect our skin and tend to get tanned by those harsh sun rays and UV rays that damage and weaken our skin. Sunscreen can protect your skin from more damage, but cannot remove the present tanning. Lemon has great exfoliating properties that treat your tanning deeply. Lemon and sugar scrub is perfect for those who are seeking a clear and radiant skin that is free from tan and scars.
Ingredients:
- 5 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups olive oil
- 2 lemons
- 3 tbsp honey

- Mix in sugar and olive oil. Squeeze lemon over the mixture, followed by honey. Mix all the ingredients well and apply on the tanned areas after having a shower. Rub gently and not harshly as you may aggravate your skin by rubbing it harshly, in order to exfoliate too much. Honey used in the scrub works as a moisturising agent, so your skin is not left dry and flaky post application.
Almond orange scrub:
Almonds are really good for health, and also especially for winter skins. Natural almond oil is highly required for the body in winters, to keep it cleansed. Orange is added to the scrub for a stimulating and refreshing feel, and also orange is an excellent exfoliating agent.
Ingredients:
- 1 handful of almonds
- 1 orange peel
- 1 cup olive oil
Method:
- Blend all the ingredients together in a blender till they are blended completely. Apply the mixture all over your body. Rinse thoroughly after massaging for 8-10 minutes.
