Met Gala, also kwn as Costume Institute Benefit, is an annual fundraising event for Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. Celebrities, fashion icons, and designers from all over world attend event, which is distinguished by its lavish outfits and outrous mes. Over past 10 years, Met Gala has seen some incredible mes which have sparked a wide range of gorgeous styles and trends.

me for this year is anunced as "Karl Lrfeld: A Line of Beauty". It is dedicated to legandary German fashion designer who was very frequent visitor to Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. 2021: In America: A Lexicon of Fashion

In 2021, Met Gala returned after a hiatus due to COVID-19 pandemic, and me was "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion." me celebrated American fashion and its impact on global style, with many guests opting for bold, patriotic colors and design. me encourd designers and attendees to explore diversity, creativity, and history of American fashion. event also aimed to support American fashion industry, which was hit hard by pandemic.

2019: Camp: tes on Fashion 

2019 me was "Camp: tes on Fashion," inspired by Susan Sontag's essay "tes on Camp". me celebrated art of exaggeration and atricality, with attendees donning outrous outfits, exaggerated shapes and over--top accessories. me was a d to quee culture and its influence on mainstream fashion. 

2018: Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imagination 

2018 me was chosen to explore relationship between fashion and Catholicism, and influence of religious icography on fashion design. me inspired guests to wear extravnt and daring outfits, with many opting for elaborate headpieces and gowns adorned with crosses and or religious symbols. me sparked both admiration and controversy, with some criticizing it for appropriating religious symbolism for commercial purposes.

2017: Rei Kawakubo/ Comme des Garcons: Art of In-Between

In 2017, me hored work of Japanese fashion designer Rei Kawakubo, founder of label Comme des Garçons. It encourd guests to explore concept of "in-between," such as between boundaries and fusion of different artistic mediums. Many celebrities embraced avant-grade me, wearing bold and unconventional outfits on red carpet. 

2016: Manus x Machina: Fashion in an of Techlogy

In 2016, Met Gala explored intersection of fashion and techlogy, showcasing how designers used both handcrafted and machine-made techniques to create intricate and invative pieces. It inspired a range of futuristic and avant-grade outfits on red carpet. Many celebs embracing metallic, cutouts, and or techlogical elements in ir ensembles.

2015: China: Through Looking Glass

In 2015 Met Gala explored influence of Chinese aestics and ir impact on Western fashion. me inspired many guests to incorporate Chinese-inspired motifs into ir outfits, such as dragon embroidery, traditional silk fabrics, and ornate headpieces. 2012: Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations

2012 Met Gala was inspired by Italian fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli and her conversation with Miuccia Prada. ry explored similarities and differences in ir design approaches and celebrated ir contributions to fashion industry. Celebrities and guests at event were encourd to dress in accordance with me.
