New Year resolutions are something that people decide on doing but end up failing. Here are some tips that will help you to stick to your new year resolutions.

2020 is barely two months away. This is the perfect time to start thinking about new year resolutions. The problem with new year resolutions is that most people fail to stick to them. As Norman Vincent Peale said, “Plan your work for today and every day, then work your plan.” The same is the case with new year resolutions. If you are deciding on something just because your friends are doing it, then it is a bad idea. The new year resolution should be by you and for yourself. Also, the new year resolution should be something that is doable. If not, one will end up quitting their resolution if they are hoping for unrealistic results.

Here are some ways to stick to your new year resolution:

1. Pick up more than just one resolution and write them down

Make sure at least one of your resolution is related to fitness or health. The resolution should help you improve yourself. Writing down the resolutions will help you to keep track of them. One thing to note is to write the resolutions in the present tense in order to stick to them throughout the year.

2. Share your resolutions with your friends

Make sure more than two or three people know about your new year resolutions. That way people will keep asking you about your resolution and how it has been working out for you. This constant question will keep you focused and will keep reminding you of the goals that you have to achieve.

3. Keep track of your milestones

Keep a track of your milestones and your achievement throughout this process. This record will help you to see your improvement. Tracking your milestones will make you see where you started your journey from and where you have reached. These small achievements will keep motivating you to do better and not get distracted.

4. Small rewards

If you have made progress, even if it is a small achievement, you still need to reward yourself. This reward is a small token for your hard work and discipline. This reward will not only remind you of your achievement but will also help you stay focused in order to get your next reward and eventually achieve your goal.
