Tory Burch celebrates 20th century’s most fashionable woman, Princess Diana at New York Fashion Week, on Sunday. From a linen and lear pant to a macramé tweed skirt, Burch’s new collection was entirely inspired by Diana’s iconic clothing. 

Strength and style  

show was held at Brooklyn Museum, Burch said she made sure “to be careful t to be too literal because she’s clearly a style icon but that’s t what was so interesting to me.” artist revealed that Diana’s humanitarian work had inspired her most, “her fearlessness, her being a mom that protected her family and just how strong of a woman she was.” designer tried to combine Diana’s strength and style in outfits that included linen dresses with rope sashes, a wool sweater with a sequined collar and a silk twill skirt.

Inspired by Diana

In range of looks in her spring-summer 2020 collection, Burch made models walk on ramp with sneakers on, which reflected free spirit of Princess. Model Karolina Kurkova, who sat in front row, said she was excited about collection and couldn’t wait for it.

She also added, “I think every girl growing up wants to be a princess. It was my dream, too, to be a princess,” she said. “I mean, I do of course follow royal family, and it’s good to see how y’re doing. And Princess Diana, she was very special.”

Writer-director and trans rights activist Janet Mock said that to her, Burch is about “empowerment and ambition. For me, I just love clos and I think that her clos are actually wearable and y’re accessible,” she said. 

It was very first experience at fashion week for actress Alexandra Daddario, she said that she’s very excited and inspired by Burch's new spring collection. “I love Tory Burch. I’ve been wearing Tory Burch for years,” she said. “I’m from New York. I feel like it’s great New York street fashion. It’s a really cool way to kick things off.”

Princess Diana, died in a car crash in Paris in year 1997, that also killed her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed, and car’s driver. Diana, divorced from Prince Charles and mor of Prince William and Prince Harry, had revealed her struggles of being in an extremely unhappy marri, during an interview with a global media house.
