Starting off with the launch of his label in 1990, over the years, he has worked with well-known celebrities in the industry, including Bollywood icons such as Amitabh Bachchan , Deepika Padukone , Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Sonam Kapoor. He has also dressed Hollywood celebrities like Naomi Campbell, Lady Gaga, and Uma Thurman in his designs.

Rohit Bal has created many memorable collections that elevated Indian fashion. Among his most iconic is the Gulbagh collection, unveiled at the 2014 Wills India Fashion Week 2014 inspired by Mughal gardens and arts. This collection featured intricate floral motifs, his signature lotus, and traditional Kashmiri embroidery, capturing the grandeur of Indian heritage.

Bal’s last collection, Kaaynaat, debuted at Lakmé Fashion Week 2024 was equally iconic. Inspired by the cosmos and floral beauty, it showcased rich shades of ivory, wine, and black through elegant pieces like jackets, capes, and cloaks adorned with intricate handwork. Ananya Panday was the showstopper, dressed in a black, motif-rich lehenga choli with a cape-styled top.
In addition to designing lehengas, sherwanis, jackets, and more, Bal also collaborated with the international luxury Scotch brand Chivas Regal. This partnership showcased Indian motifs and designs in the bottle and packaging, fusing Indian artistry with a global luxury product.
