What India's fashion industry is speculating to be Fashion designer Rohit Bal's last show, made for a glamourous night of 3D projected roses, which is considered an iconic motif utilized by this maverick of India's burgeoning fashion scene.

During the grand finale of Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI, Bal, affectionately known as "Gudda," took to the runway alongside showstopper Ananya Panday, offering a spirited bow after overcoming serious health challenges. The audience responded with a heartfelt standing ovation, celebrating his collection titled ‘Kaaynaat: A Bloom in the Universe’, which pays homage to nature's elegance.

Infused with Bal's Kashmiri heritage, the collection highlighted the cycle of growth through rich colours, ranging from soft whites to deep burgundies. Models glided gracefully to a nostalgic 90s soundtrack featuring Madonna and Kate Bush, reminiscent of classic fashion showcases.

Panday, wearing a striking floral lehenga, noted the similarities between her outfit and a floral jacket Bal designed for her father, Chunky Panday, humorously mentioning her penchant for “borrowing” from his wardrobe.

In an official release, Rohit Bal said, “Kaaynaat was a journey through the wonders of nature, celebrating the bloom of life and beauty. Collaborating with Lakmé was an incredible experience, and this collection reflects both the grace of nature and the enduring power of beauty.”

What's expected next from the ‘House of Rohit Bal’? 

Fashion critic Diet Sabya are among the ones that are ones expecting this to be last show from this celebrated Indian designer, who's known to draw inspiration from fantasy, history, and folkore to bring masterpieces to life.

The speculation comes after Rohit Bal has battling with unstable health due, and even last month faced cardiac issues, according to media reports. The illness seemed to be visibly affecting the designer as he walked the ramp with the aid four people.
