The lehenga, made from vintage brocade saris, epitomizes the beauty of recycled textiles. Styled by Ami Patel, the ensemble includes a choli, an A-line lehenga, and a tissue silk dupatta. Girotra's design merges 50-60-year-old saris into a vibrant and intricate garment, highlighting the rich heritage of Indian textiles. His commitment to preserving historical craftsmanship through fashion is evident, with a focus on reviving and celebrating the artistry of traditional fabrics.

“I’m deeply passionate about collecting textiles. It’s not just a hobby but a means to preserve history and craftsmanship,” Girotra shared in an Instagram video detailing the outfit’s creation.

Sara’s blouse, a deep purple with a backless design and dori ties, features intricate gold brocade embroidery and a gotta patti border. Its sweetheart neckline, half-length sleeves, fitted bust, and cropped hem enhance its elegance. The lehenga skirt, a mix of purple, green, and pink brocade, complements the blouse perfectly.

The ensemble is completed with a bronze gold tissue silk dupatta, adorned with pink borders and zardozi zari embroidery. Sara elegantly draped the dupatta, adding a graceful touch to her look. Underneath, a jewel-toned, molded body with a sequin sheet holographic bustier reflects the colors of the ikat weave in the brocade, providing a contemporary twist to the classic design.

Sara’s choice not only highlights her style but also brings attention to the value of reviving and repurposing vintage textiles, turning old drapes into timeless, stylish garments.
