After eight days of fasting, prayer, and cultural celebrations, the ninth day of Navratri has finally arrived. On this auspicious day, devotees worship Maa Siddhidatri, a form of Goddess Durga, who is believed to guide and energize the planet Ketu.

Significance of Maa Siddhidatri

Maa Siddhidatri is depicted seated on a lotus and riding a divine lion. She has four arms, and in her two right hands, she holds a mace and a chakra, while her two left hands carry a lotus flower and a conch.

According to Drik Panchang, "Mother Siddhidatri provides all kinds of siddhis to her devotees. Lord Shiva also got all the siddhis by the grace of Goddess Siddhidatri. Not only humans but also gods, Gandharvas, demons, Yakshas and Siddhas worship him. Lord Shiva got the title of Ardh-Narishwar only after Goddess Siddhidatri appeared from the left side of Lord Bholenath."
