Jackfruit is known as 'Kathal' in Hindi. It is a large fruit whose pulp and seeds are edible. The interior consists of the fruit and the seed, out of which the unripe fruits are mainly used in cooking. The unripe fruit is known to curb diabetes as well as aid in weight loss according to numerous researches all over the globe. Because of its fibery texture, it is good for the gut as well. Jackfruit curry
Boil the unripe jackfruit pieces for 1-2 pressure cooker whistles in saltwater. Deep fry these pieces till golden brown. In a pan, saute onion, black cardamom, few dried red chillies, roasted cumin powder, garam masala powder, dhania powder, turmeric powder. Add tomato puree with salt and cook it for few minutes. Vegan noodles with jackfruit
Prepare the noodles of your choice and put it aside. For the sauce preparation - add some soya sauce, broth, cornflour, and chilli garlic sauce. Prepare the jackfruit by boiling and draining them. Now in a pan, stir fry some whole garlic, ginger, shiitake mushrooms, red, yellow, green bell peppers, cabbage, jackfruit, mix it with the sauce and finally, add the noodles. Jackfruit Kofta
Make delectable Koftas with jackfruit and add it into the gravy made with tomato and coconut as the key ingredients. For the Koftas, boil the raw jackfruit pieces in a pressure cooker in saltwater with 1-2 whistles. Make a paste with the boiled jackfruit pieces, coconut, green chilly.
