A hangover refers to headaches, dizziness, or nausea that you suffer from excessive alcohol consumption. Water and electrolytes - Load up on water and electrolytes to replenish your sodium, potassium, and magnesium levels. You can even have coconut water to replenish the electrolytes in your body. Bananas are also a great tool for a hangover as it is full of potassium.

Breakfast: Do not skip breakfast even if your head is pounding post hangover. The calorie-rich foods like egg, cheese, pancakes in your breakfast may help to get over your hangover quickly. If you don't eat, your blood sugar gets low, some of the headaches are also contributed due to low blood sugar levels.

Asparagus - A study in the Journal of Food Science found the amino acids in asparagus help human cells break down alcohol faster, which means it reduces all of alcohol's negative effects, including the hangover.

- Fill up on fluids and electrolytes to prevent being dehydrated post alcohol consumption. Try and dilute your hard drinks before consumption.
- Do not forget to eat before and while consuming alcohol.
- Even though the caffeine from coffee could decrease the headache, it is also a diuretic like alcohol which would further dehydrate the body and delay your hangover cure as well.
- The best tip to avoid a hangover is to drink mindfully.
