During pregnancy, doctors suggest that a balanced diet plays a very important role in providing nutrition to the baby. ‘Eating for two’ is a famous phrase that is advised and followed during pregnancy. It doesn’t mean you need to overeat, but a healthy diet plays a very essential role in the growth of the baby and mother. Doctors advise to avoid empty calories during pregnancy, and they stress on including fruits and vegetables in your diet. Fruits and vegetables provide you with the required amount of nutrients for the baby, especially fruits that are rich in some of the key essential nutrients like Vitamin C and Vitamin B. Here are ten essential fruits you should eat during pregnancy.

· Orange

Oranges help in keeping the body hydrated. They are a high source of folate. Folate helps in preventing brain and spinal cord defects. Orange is also a great source of Vitamin C, which helps the body to gain iron.

· Mango

Mangoes are huge source of Vitamin A and C. One bowl of mangoes is equal to the total RDA of Vitamin C and more than a third of the RDA of Vitamin A. Vitamin A is essential for the baby as deficiency of Vitamin A leads to lower immunity and a higher risk of complications. Vitamin A deficiency also causes respiratory infections.
