With Puducherry registering 39 positive cases of swine flu so far, officials of Health department are kept on high alert, Health Minister Malli Krishna Rao said in a statement on Monday, October 23. 

minister held discussions with Director of Health Services K V Raman and officials of public health wing of department reviewing steps taken to prevent spre of swine flu, dengue, and chikungunya in Union Territory.

It said that so far Puducherry reported 39 positive cases of swine flu and patients were being treated in centrally-sponsored JIPMER and in Indira Gandhi Government General Hospital, Indira Gandhi Government Medical College Hospital, and Rajiv Gandhi Women and Child hospital here.

statement said that number of cases reported this year was, however, five percent less than number of cases reported during 2017

Necessary arrangements, including opening of separate isolation wards, were me in Government General Hospital, Medical College hospital and also in Government Women and Child hospital here to treat swine flu patients.
