Hindi Diwas 2020- History, Meaning and Significance
Hindi is an Indo-Aryan langu written in Devanagari script and is one of official langus of India. day is dedicated to promote and propagate official langu and is celebrated as a patriotic day to remember our common roots and unity. Hindi, along with English are official langus of India. As mentioned in Article 343, official langu of Union was declared Hindi, in Devanagari script.

form of numerals was declared to be used for official purpose of Union. On September 14, 1949, Constituent Assembly of India adopted Hindi as official langu of newly formed nation. Back n decision was accepted and it became a part of Indian constitution on January 26, 1950. In 1953, first Hindi Diwas was celebrated.

Several people like Beohar Rajendra Simha, Hazari Prasad Dwivedi, Kaka Kelkar, Maithili Sharan Gupt and ors fought hard to make Hindi official langu of India. Beohar Rajendra Simha is best kwn for his illustrations on original final manuscript of Constitution of India. Hindi was also langu adopted by Indian leaders as a symbol of national identity during struggle for freedom. Hindi has been used as a literary langu since 12th century.

How is Hindi Diwas celebrated?
Across India, schools and colleges organise literary and cultural programs, competitions in Hindi where all students participate. first prime minister of country, Jawaharlal Nehru decided to celebrate Hindi Diwas on September 14. Many educational institutes also organise poem, essays and recitation competitions to encour students to take part and celebrate langu, and also be proud of it.
