History of Mor's Day

Mor's Day was first celebrated in 1908 when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mor at St Andrew's Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia. anna Jarvis' campaign to make Mor's Day a recognised holiday in United States began in 1905, year her mor, Ann Reeves Jarvis, died. Anna Jarvis h been a peace activist who cared for wounded soldiers on both sides of  American Civil War and created Mor's Day Work Clubs to dress public health issues. Anna Jarvis wanted to hour her mor by continuing work she started.
