1. Make attainable goals

Think about all the resolutions that you had set for yourself in the past before you start jotting down newer ones. Look at the rate of success you achieved with your previous resolutions. If there is a goal that has been consistent on your list but you have not achieved yet then try to maybe lower the scale of your goal. For example, if your goal was to read 50 books in a year, bring the number down to probably 20 or 30.

You should make resolutions that easy to track as well. This helps you to see how good you are at the task. Also, set a timeline for your goals. For example, if your goal is to lose 10 kgs next year then set goals like loose 2 kgs of weight every 2 months. This helps to monitor your achievements.

2. Share your resolutions

The people who are close to you can help you to abide by your results. It is a better option to involve your friends and family in your resolutions. Your loved ones can act as a pillar of support for you. If you ever feel down or frustrated when you are not able to achieve your goals, talk to your loved ones.

You can ask your family members to also monitor your progress regularly. You can also plan out resolutions with your family so you all can work towards achieving it together. For example, you and your family members can plan for daily 30 minutes of exercise or walking. These are fun and enjoyable while also making you closer to achieving your goals.

3. Reward yourself

When you inch a step closer, make sure you pat yourself on the back. However, make sure that your rewards do not undermine your overall progress. If you are trying to cut down on sweets then make sure you go on for a month without any. In the end, you can indulge yourself in a tiny slice of your favourite pastry or chocolate. This can be a fun way to motivate yourself throughout the year.
