Nirjala Ekashi is a Hindu holy day falling on 11th lunar day (Ekashi) of  waxing fortnight of  Hindu month of Jyeshta. This Ekashi derives its name from water-less fast observed on this day. It is considered to be most austere and hence most sacred of all 24 Ekashis. If observed religiously, it is said to be most rewarding and grants  virtue gained by observance of all Ekshis in a year. Nirjala Ekashi ims

Ekashis are considered to be very important days in Hindu religion. Among all 24 Ekashis in yearly Hindu calendar, Nirajala Ekashi is most significant one. This day falls under Shukla Paksha in Jyeshtha month and coincides with months of May or June in Gregorian calendar. Ekashi means eleventh day of a fortnight, and Nirajala Ekashi is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This year, Ekashi tithi will reportedly begin on June 1 at 2.57 pm and will end on June 2 at 12.04 pm.
