Hyderabad is considered the cultural hub of Telangana and is also known as the city of nawabs. The city is famous for its serene artistic vibe. It is a beautiful blend of art and culture. Hyderabad is also popularly known as 'The Pearl City'. Hyderabad has great historical significance attached to and its home to quite a few historical monuments. It was established in 1591 CE by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shahies and is located on the banks of the Musi River. Three Must-visit Historical Places in Hyderabad
Golconda Fort
You must have heard about the Kohinoor diamond, which was an Indian jewel. But later, it was taken by the British during the colonisation period. The Kohinoor was kept in the Golconda Fort, which was built by Qutub Shahi Kings. There is also a jail present inside the fort. The architectural structure of the fort is highly impressive, with eight gates and 87 bastions. One can also enjoy a sound and light show during the evening time in the Golconda fort.
Charminar
Charminar and Hyderabad are synonymous to each other. Located in Ghansi Bazaar area, the monument stands tall as the four-pillared turret. It was constructed by Sultan Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah in the year 1591, in the honour of his wife Bhagmati. A 400-year-old mosque is present on the top of Charminar. The square-shaped structure has a height of 56m and breadth of 30m. It is a very famous tourist destination as well in the city. It is crowded with people throughout the year. Charminar is also known as the ‘Arc de Triomphe of the East’ this is because it is decorated with four towers, one in each corner. The monument lits up in the evening time, and it's covered with lights completely. The view is break-taking and captivates the attention of visitors.
Chowmahalla Palace:
Located in Motigalli, Khilwat is the well-renowned Chowmahlla Palace. As the name suggests, the Chowmahalla Palace is home to four Palace within itself. There is Khilwat Mubarak is the darbar hall of the Palace. There is 252 years old clock present at the Palace. Another interesting thing about the Chowmahalla Palace is that one can witness 1912 Royle Royce Silver Ghost car showcased at the Palace, which was used by the Nizam. The Chowmahalla Palace and the Charminar are in the same vicinity as that of Khilwat area. This is a top tourist attraction which takes you back in time.
