These trains are super comfortable and renowned for their top quality service. Passengers travelling on these trains get to know how royally they are treated. Here are some of the most luxurious trains offered by IRCTC.
Three luxurious trains that provide royal treatment to their passengers
Maharajas’ Express
Maharajas' Express is a luxury train offered by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation. The train covers five Indian states namely Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The ticket prices for this deluxe train ranges from ₹36,000 to ₹112,500 per day. A lot of affluent passengers prefer travelling from the Maharajas' Express.
Royal Rajasthan On Wheels
The Royal Rajasthan On Wheels is a successor of the famous deluxe train 'Palace On Wheels'. The royal train covers Delhi and Rajasthan. The journey starts from the capital city and it covers Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Khajuraho, Agra, Varanasi and finally returns to Delhi. The cost of the tickets varies depending upon the lean and the peak season and there are four occupancies with different price ranges (₹39,000-₹54,000 per person per night).
The Deccan Odyssey
The Deccan Odyssey offers a seven nights and eight days holiday package. The luxurious train was modelled on the 'Palace of Wheels'. The Maharashtra government decided to launch the train to boost the tourism of the state. This train's journey starts from Mumbai. The train offers two suites - Deluxe Cabin and Presidential Suite. Ticket prices vary depending upon occupancy and the type of suite.
The IRCTC has also recently launched its first private train 'Tejas Express'. The new train will travel from Lucknow to Delhi. Tejas Express is expected to beat the speed of Swarn Shatabdi (the fastest train on the same route). The prices for this new train will be around ₹1,280 to ₹4,325 per person depending on the number of bookings.
