Government of India restarted domestic flight service today, after around two months since lockdown was initiated in India. number of passengers has been cut down to a minimal level so as to ensure that social distancing rules and regulations are followed even in flights. Many states have released a specified set of rules and regulations to be followed on  passengers' arrival. Take a look at set of rules imposed by Maharashtra government with regards to measures when a passenger arrives at Mumbai airport.

Maharashtra quarantine rules for domestic flight passengers

It was reported that paramilitary personnel, army men, students and migrants took first flights around country as y were unable to book tickets for special trains. Flights from Mumbai and Patna were among first to take off today. In Maharashtra, 25 passenger flights are allowed to take off from Mumbai and as many as 25 flights are allowed to land in Mumbai from today. However, after situation is analysed and reviewed with regards to operational safety, number of flights would n be increased gradually. 

  • Mumbai airport has declared that instead of 200 flights, it will only allow transit of 50 domestic flights each day.
  • passengers will get a mandatory home quarantine stamp even if y do t have symptoms. In case, passengers find mselves developing any symptoms later, y should inform district surveillance officer or call  state/national call centre by dialling number 1075. 
  • However, people with short-term visits are likely to be exempted from 14-day home quarantine rules. 
  • If any passenger is found to be symptomatic, y would be separated from rest of people immediately and would be taken to isolation ward or COVID-19 treatment ward by medical team at airports. 
  • Even those passengers showing moderate symptoms will be admitted to dedicated COVID-19 health facilities.

Dos and Don'ts for Maharashtra flight passengers

  • All passengers are advised to download Aarogya Setu app so that only passengers with green status on app are allowed to travel.
  • Any anuncements made at airports in connection to COVID-19 should be followed by every passenger.
  • All States and UTs would check wher passengers leaving from departure at airport are duly screened using a rmal scanner, as only n y would be allowed to leave airport.
  • People are advised to follow social distancing rules at airports/railway stations/ bus terminals.
  • All passengers are advised to use face covers/mask while travelling on flights. y are also advised to follow hand hygiene, respiratory hygiene and environmental hygiene as well. 
  • Asymptomatic passengers who are departing for ir home can take registered transport vehicles from airport as y are exempt from curfew pass. For those who have private vehicles coming to pick m up from airport should ensure that drivers carry soft copy or hard copy of boarding pass of passenger, which would n be considered as a curfew pass for that period of time.
