Igatpuri
Near Nashik, Igatpuri is a town and a hill station located in the western ghats. The best time to visit Igatpuri is during the monsoon season. There are valleys, lakes, and forts that are the main tourist points. You can go to Igatpuri by road and by train as well. Tourists can also participate in activities like rock climbing and trekking.
Chikhaldara
Chikhaldara is a hill station located near Amravati. The best time to visit this place is from October to June. Apart from being the only coffee-growing region in Maharashtra, it also offers numerous tourists points. The famous Melghat Tiger Project in Chikhaldara has around 82 Tigers. If you want to plan a road trip, Chikhaldara is the option for you to have a good time. There is no railway connectivity to Chikhaldara.
Alibaug
Even the stars of Bollywood have captured the town. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan owns a farmhouse in Alibaug. It is one of the best places to visit with friends. Alibaug is known for its beautiful beaches. If you are bored travelling in the train or tired for after a long week, then get ready to explore the sea route to reach the place. There are ferry rides available to reach Alibaug from the Gateway of India.
Matheran
Matheran is located at the western ghats near Mumbai. The place is known for its well-preserved colonial architecture. The climate over there is mild. The interesting thing about the hill station is that motor vehicles are banned there. There are different places in Matheran that will treat your eyes with some exceptional and beautiful views.
Kaas Plateau
Located near Satara, it falls under the Sahyadri Sub Cluster of the western ghats. The place has various types of seasonal wildflowers, over more than 850 spices. August to early October is the best time to visit this rich -n-biodiversity place. There are also lakes that will offer a peaceful sunset to its visitors.
