World Spanish Langu Day is also kwn as United Nations Spanish Langu Day. significant day is observed on April 23 every year. World Spanish Day was organised by UNESCO in year 2010. UNESCO me  day official in order to celebrate multilingualism and cultural heterogeneity as well as to encour equal use of all six of its official working langus throughout  organisation. day is also celebrated as a tribute to writer Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. What is World Spanish Langu Day

Originally, day goes back to year 1926, when a profound writer Vicente Clavel Andrés first proposed idea of a day dedicated to celebrate Spanish literature. Post proposal, trition first started in Valencia and later quickly spre throughout Spain. By year 1964, day was opted by all Spanish-speaking countries.

Initially, October 12 was chosen as day of celebration as it is tritionally recognised as day when Christopher Columbus discovered America, tracing beginning of spre of Spanish langu and culture as well as its lasting impact on new world. However, later date was changed by UN and re has been official statement me by UN as to why date was changed. United Nations urges all  companies around globe to celebrate days of langus. y also encour m to organise cultural events that show importance of multilingualism through music, art, food, and movies.

In ar history, World Spanish Langu Day is also celebrated as an hour to writer Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, deceased on April 23. Kwn as “El Manco del Lepanto”, Cervantes left his vel Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote of La Mancha, a monumental text that contributed to enrichment of world literature and Spanish langu. Described as first modern vel, this has been most translated and edited book in history.
