Amid the suspense over who will be the next chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan began his campaign to win all the Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday (December 9). Speaking with reporters in Bhopal, he stated the reason for his visit in North Bhopal is because the party lost the seat in the recently held assembly elections but the attempt going forward will be to win all the Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh. This campaign will be to focus first on the seats the party lost in the assembly polls, he said.
“We have begun a campaign and taken a vow to win all the 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh. We are going to those assembly constituencies where we weren’t able to win. We were not able to win Bhopal North. I have come with the objective of winning Bhopal North in the Lok Sabha elections. We have started a victory rally to not lose in any assembly constituencies in the state.”

After leading the Bharatiya Janata Party to a landslide victory in the Madhya Pradesh assembly polls, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday (December 5) said he had not been a contender for the CM's post in the past, nor was he one now. The BJP had not projected any chief ministerial face before the November 17 elections. It scored a thumping victory by winning 163 of the 230 assembly seats, leaving the main opposition Congress far behind with 66 seats.
"I had not been a contender for the chief minister earlier, nor am I one today. As a party worker, I have always carried out whatever work the BJP assigned me to the best of my ability, with dedication and honesty," Chouhan said in a video statement posted on his official X account. The 64-year-old leader, who has been Madhya Pradesh's chief minister four times, also said he was fortunate to be a BJP worker.
