Launching a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that someone with the mentality of a child lacks restraint in their words and remains unaware of their actions.
Replying to the debate on the motion of thanks to the President's Address in Lok Sabha, the Prime Minister said," Balak Budhi (Child's mentality) has no control over the words it says and has no control on the behaviour. And when this Balak Budhi goes out of control then it starts winking at the people in the House and starts hugging people. Country has realised about their situation and now they are saying ‘Tumse na ho payega’ (You cannot do it).”
Rahul Gandhi hugged Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the no-confidence motion debate in the Lok Sabha on July 20, 2018. After giving a hug to PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi also winked at the members of the House.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also hit out at the opposition and said that his government believes in the principle of "santushtikaran" (satisfaction) and has left the practice of "tushtikaran". He said that such practice was followed by previous UPA governments when they were in power prior to 2014.
"Our country has seen the politics of tushtikaran (appeasement), the governance model of tushtikaran for a long time. The country has now seen a new model of secularism for the first time. Through our efforts, we have followed the idea of satisfaction (santushtikaran) and not appeasement," the Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister also emphasized that his government believes in "Justice to All, Appeasement to None".
"Appeasement has destroyed this country. And so we believed in the principle of Justice to All, Appeasement to None," he said.
PM Modi also mentioned that the BJP has been brought back to power after people in the country looked at their track record of the past 10 years at the Centre.
"After seeing our track record for the last 10 years, India's people have supported us and have given us the opportunity to serve 140 crore people," he said.
The debate on the motion of thanks on the President's address started in Lok Sabha on Monday.
