Curiosity Rover celebrates 9 years on Mars, NASA releases stunning panorama shot

Curiosity Rover has been on red planet for almost a dece and has recently shared a stunning parama to celebrate its ninth year anniversary on Mars. A snapshot taken by rover has been released by NASA recently, and it shows a wide view of Martian surface behind Curiosity Rover.  rover is currently on outskirts of Mount Sharp, exploring its way around landing site in Gale Crater.

Curiosity Rover shares parama from Mars, completes nine years on red planet  

It was on August 5, 2012, that NASA's Curiosity Rover touched down on red planet. Since n, rover has been active for 3305 days, which also translates to 3217 sols(a solar day on Mars). Interestingly, technique used at time of Curiosity's touchdown was also used when Perseverance Rover landed on Martian surface on February 18, 2021. While curiosity rover landed at floor of Gale Crater, it has been climbing up hill located centrally in crater. 

From its current position 1,500 feet above landing level, Curiosity Rover can see up to rim of Gale Crater, which is located some 32 kilometres from rover. clear distant vision is possible because of prevailing Winter season on Mars. Martian atmosphere contains less dust in Winters, while amount of minute particles in air rises in summer. On one side of im, smooth clay-bearing deposits are clearly visible. This region was being analyzed by rover as it might have been formed in presence of moisture or water.

rover is w slowly making its way to a region that is characterized by sulfates or salty minerals. reafter, robot will study samples from this region. data will help scientists understand reason behind drying up of red planet. It is also speculated that before Mars dried up, it h required conditions for life to thrive on planet. im shared by Curiosity Rover has revealed texture of rocks on planet as well.
