ISS crew welcomes Hurley and Behnken onboard; NASA chief asks 'did you get any sleep?'

US astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley, who were sporting X t-shirts, have been welcomed by crew at International Station in NASA suits with smiles and hugs after over 19 hours since y blasted off into in X’s Crew Dragon capsule. NASA ministrator Jim Bridenstine, who was first person to have a conversation with astronauts, thanked m for making history on May 30. first question that Bridenstine asked Behnken and Hurley was if y got any sleep on ir way to ISS and two credited ir sound sleep of nearly seven hours to good airflow of Crew Dragon capsule.

X’s Crew Dragon capsule h successfully docked with International Station at 10:16am ET on May 31 with US Astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken. Crew Dragon is fifth ship to have been parked at station but only first to be manufactured by a private company. In a joint venture by NASA and X, Crew Dragon capsule blasted off into on X’s Falcon 9 on May 30 at 3:22pm ET and at least 19 hours later, Hurley and Behnken are currently having conversations with 'VIPs' on earth before welcoming ceremony at ISS officially began.

According to reports, Crew Dragon’s linkup was automatic and it has occurred at least 422kilometers above China-Mongolia border. Since capsule was safely hatched to station, congratulatory messs have been flowing in for astronauts and teams working behind mission. X Mission Control said from California, “Congratulations on a phemenal accomplishment and welcome to International Station.”
