world is about to witness its second lunar eclipse of year so far, on June 5 - what is likely to be an understated partial eclipse. A penumbral eclipse is far more subtle than a full Lunar eclipse where only more diffused outer show of Earth ( penumbra) creates a dark shing on  moon's face. It is a result of Earth’s show blocking sun’s light.

moon is shed by Earth's show very subtly, which actually makes it quite difficult to tice effect, as opposed to a total eclipse of moon. At best, during mid-eclipse, only a few observant people can observe a dark shing on face of moon while rest won't be able to tice anything at all. se are so difficult to detect that y can't even be spotted with a telescope at times. This is one of reasons event is considered by many to be of acemic interest only. penumbral lunar eclipse which is set to take place this month on June 5 is kwn as  ‘Strawberry Moon Eclipse’ and it is expected that about 57 per cent of moon will pass into Earth’s penumbra.

According to eclipse expert Fred Espenak, about 35% of all eclipses are of  penumbral  and 30% are partial eclipses.  remaining 35% are total eclipses of moon, which turn moon blood red and are quite extraordinary events to behold.
