Humongous meteors & asteroids hit earth & moon system 800 million years ago
New studies on the moon have found that meteors & asteroids more massive than dinosaurs-killing ones hit Earth 800 million years ago. Read for details.

Around 800 million years ago, an asteroid 100 KM wide broke up in and hurtled into Earth and moon. Scientists believe that strike was thirty times more impactful than asteroid that was responsible for killing disaurs. Scientists can study size and impact craters on different parts of moon and estimate s of scars. This technique is kwn as Crater Chrology. Researchers from Osaka University in Japan are conducting furr studies on this and have drawn a conclusion on se techniques.

Researchers found that while evidence of strikes on Earth has changed over years, on moon, re is almost erosion. This allowed scientists to reconstruct history of 60 large craters.

A media portal reported that moon’s face is marred by thousands of craters. se are assumed to have created by whizzing rocks that pelted early solar system. Researchers believe that observations of lunar craters could reveal a lot about ancient impacts on Earth.

It is so because craters on moon do t erode as y do on Earth. Earth has seen older craters than 600 million years ago being weared into thingness. This happens due to volcanic activity, erosion, and or geological factors.

Researchers have found an interesting perspective on a dramatic climate shift in Earth. earth went through a glacial period which is also kwn as ‘swball Earth’. During that period, planet h undergone a global deep freeze in which entire surface of earth was covered in ice.

Explaining furr, researchers told a media portal that Earth was covered from pole to pole with ice. Earlier scientists h suspected that volcaes or or factors of Earth h led to big chill. However, new studies on lunar evidence indicate that asteroids and meteors hitting Earth might have been cause of ice .
It has been reported by a media portal that new lunar evidence shows that trigger may have originated in . ‘swball Earth’ may have been a result of an asteroid bombardment.
